Dealing With StressDealing With Stress In Life Is Necessary.

A life which is stress-free, is not a reasonable or realistic goal. Stress in life is inevitable, and the goal is to deal with it actively, and the most effective way for you. It may take teaching yourself to be introspective, so that you know at what point pressure becomes stress. If you identify your stress, and have an effective way of dealing with stress, it will not build to become an anxiety.

Changing your negative attitude to a positive one, accepting things that you cannot control, and having a management strategy that works for you in place, will help to keep those pressures of life from becoming uncontrollable and turning into debilitating stress.

FACTORS WHICH INFLUENCE YOUR STRESS TOLERANCE

  • SUPPORT NETWORK
The more isolated that you make yourself, the more vulnerable you become to stress and its effects on the body. Having people who support you around, makes you feel more confident, less helpless, and more able to express your emotions and fears.

  • SENSE OF CONTROL
Self-confident people are more able to tackle stress head on. Instead of feeling defeated, they take stress as just another challenge. Self-confidence can be built gradually by taking the challenges presented in life, dealing with them the best way that you can, and improving the next time.

  • ATTITUDE
If you try to have and optimistic outlook, you are more likely to embrace challenges, rather than fear them.  Stress can be turned into positive stress by not procrastinating, prolonging what needs to be achieved.  If procrastination becomes a habit, then fears will develop, causing  anxieties to develop.

  • ABILITY TO DEAL WITH EMOTIONS
If you have a strategy to deal with your emotions, then you are able to balance your emotions, calm yourself when you feel that the stress is becoming a problem, and bounce back from adversity, before stress becomes overwhelming.

  • RESEARCH & PREPARATIONS

We are not born to deal with every stress that is presented in life, but we can learn to deal with it successfully. If you know your stressors, and prepare for the task at hand, stress will not become a debilitating factor. Try several strategies to deal with stress, and use those which work most effectively for you.

APPROACHES TO DEALING WITH STRESS

  • FOCUS

On the immediate situation, rather than global issues. Look at the situation before you as a part to a whole. If you complete small parts, rather than looking at the task as overwhelming, you are more likely to dig in and accomplish something.

  • STAY

Optimistic about the stress that you are experiencing. Evaluate your explanatory words and what they mean. Try saying “I’m tired today”, instead of “I’m a failure”, or “I have a bad habit”, instead of “I am a bad person”. What we say to others about ourselves is eventually internalized, and we start believing it.

  • KNOW YOUR LIMIT OF STRESS
Stress can be a very personal motivator or it can develop into fear. We react to stress very differently. Take the time to evaluate how you feel. When you begin feeling that you cannot meet the demands placed on you in life, then take an active role in managing it. You should never wait to seek help until you feel out of control, or until you feel helpless.
